[BACKGROUNDER]

Our registered charitable organization was created in 1985 from a passion to keep the legacy of the WWII Harvard aircraft alive and honour those who trained in them and served their country.

Dubbed “the pilot maker”, the Harvard was the most advanced, single-engine trainer of its time, offering the familiar “roar of the Harvard” at air bases across Canada.

Today, our volunteers continue to work passionately and tirelessly to maintain North America’s biggest fleet — eight Harvards and one Yale.

Throughout our flying season, from April to November, we host a number of events at our home base at the Tillsonburg Regional Airport, in addition to participating in air shows and other events across the Great Lakes region. And of course, the public is welcome to go for a memorable flight!

With minimal government assistance, we rely on the generosity of donors to keep our birds flying. Visit our website at www.harvards.com to book a flight, tour or fly-over, or learn about our many events, or make a donation.

How you can help support the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association?:

  • Go for a flight! Or tell your family and friends about us. Selling back seat rides is a significant portion of our fundraising efforts.
  • Attend one of our Open House & Fly Days!
  • Volunteer! We’re always looking for volunteers. No aviation experience necessary.
  • Donate your empty pop cans! Every 32 cans yields $0.50 for our ‘Fairwell Flight Fund.’ A fund that pays for fuel when we perform a Fly Over to honour someone who has passed away.

Join us in celebrating the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association’s 40 anniversary in 2025!
