November 5, 2025: Burlington’s annual Remembrance Day parade to the cenotaph at Veteran Square will be led by two armoured personnel carriers and the ceremony will feature a vintage aircraft flypast, on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Terry Scott of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 60 in Burlington said both military vehicles served with Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan from 2010 to 2012 and are now privately owned.

Scott said the flypast of vintage Harvard aircraft is expected shortly before the ceremony begins at the cenotaph, likely around 10:40 or 10:45 a.m.

“The Harvard was the primary single-engine advanced trainer used by the British Commonwealth Air Training Program, which trained more than 130,000 aircrew at bases across the country during the Second World War,” Scott said. “The Harvard was used postwar by the RCAF until 1965 and was also used to train NATO forces in Canada.”

He said the Harvards doing the Burlington flypast are from the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association based at Tillsonburg Regional Airport.
